02 The gate layers — what exists, and what it actually gates

These configs are real and loaded. The thing to understand is where they act: conviction gates alerting, not paper entry.

conviction.py v1.1.1 scores the firehose and assigns PRIORITY / WATCH / LOG — but it is loaded by master_scanner_180.py and copy_decision.py, which drive alerts. paper_universal.py — the thing that actually opens positions — does not import it. It has a conviction-derived size multiplier (conv_mult), so conviction changes how big a trade is, never whether to take it.

So the entry decision is still: is there capacity, and is there a price. Of 179,920 logged rejections, 2.2% are a quality judgement (sm_distrib); the rest are src_cap, total_cap and no_price.

◆ How to read this page

A feed with no volume ❌ cannot be volume-gated, cannot be TA-scored, and is invisible to the strongest predictor found so far (net_buy_vol/mcap). That is 38 of 50 feeds.
control is not a bug. It is a deliberately unfiltered random cohort — the baseline every other feed has to beat. If it ever ranks well, that is a warning about the others.
Thresholds shown are read from the writer's source at generation time. Where a writer could not be identified or parsed, the row says so instead of showing a plausible number.
Trend ≠ edge. Daily expectancy over a short window is noisy; use it to spot a feed that has changed behaviour, not to rank feeds.
